Law Enforcement Support

Behavioral Emergencies

We partner with the local police departments to de-escalate dangerous and unlawful situations for clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). According to the Autism Society, approximately 20% of youth with Autism will have been stopped and questioned by police by the age of 21. Our goal is to make those encounters productive and safe for local law enforcement as well as your child.

Our emergency ABA services are available 24/7 and provide immediate, professional support for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) during crisis situations.

Child Protective Services Support

Home Life Emergencies

Sunshine offers emergency support for Child Protective Service situations, like when a child is being removed from their home. Each year, significantly more children with ASD (17.3%) are referred to the Child Abuse Hotline, according to the NIH. Our goals is to help the transition as safe as possible, mitigating any unnecessary trauma, and helping the child regulate during the transition.

ASD Health Emergencies

The IBCCES reports that emergency department visits are 30 percent higher for children who have ASD and 70 percent higher for teens between 15 to 18 years old with ASD. Our ABA Therapy services exist in part to reduce this number, but for the instances when your child does need emergency health care support, we can help provide support for the child on the way to the hospital or during their stay.

Our Philosophy

Our approach is client-led and neurodivergent affirming. No attempt is made to manipulate or harm a child for their differences, but rather, we use those differences as an opportunity to teach and improve their quality of life.
